London to Bath DirectionsThe distance from Bath to London is about 100 miles (180 km) which usually takes between 1hr 40 mins to 2hrs. Take the M4 motorway westwards out of London (signs to West and Wales). At Junction 18 turn off and turn left onto the A46 to Bath. The A46 is essentially a straight 8 mile run into Bath through the
rolling hills .You will drive
through Pensylvania and a couple of roundabouts - always follow the
signs to Bath. Eventually the A46 dives down dramatically under the new
bypass's flyover, at which point you want to exit on the left to get to the
Bath roundabout. Follow the Bath City
Centre signs around to the right when you reach the
roundabout which takes you on to the London Road
(A4). A little way after the Ambulance and Fire Station on Bathwick Street (on your left) you come to the Beckford Road roundabout (signposted All other Routes A36) at which you turn right into Sydney Place, then take the next right into Great Pulteney Street. The Carfax Hotel is in the middle on the right. Easy! The car park and garages are at the rear of the hotel, but you might want to check in first and get more details of the best place to park from the Reception Desk. Be careful not to leave an unattended car in a parking bay without a parking ticket or resident permit - they are very strict.
